Ginger Root for an Energy Boost!

Often in the autumn and winter months we feel like all our energy is about to run out… So I’m here with a recipe to warm and power you through the blue months!

This recipe is a little like jam, yet not quite. You can use this neat little creation to make drinks out of, or add to teas! With this, you will look and feel your best! And, it’s super-easy to make!

What you need:


  • Ginger Root – 1 kg.
  • Lemons – 3.
  • Honey – 1/2 (half) of a cup.
  • Berries (if you want them!)

How to make it:

  1. Take the skin off the ginger roots. Make sure you only take the very top layer off, as all the good stuff is just under!
  2. Cut the ginger and lemon in very thin sheet-like slices. You can use a special grater for that if you  have one.
  3. Add the honey, stir, and leave for about 1 hour.
  4. Once the sugar is dissolved and juice appears, put into sterile jars and store in the fridge!

As I mentioned earlier, you can add this to any teas. What I like to do is pour hot water over berries and then add 1 or 2 table spoons of this ‘jam’, which makes a fantastic hot drink! The amount of vitamins in this is just.. wow! Enjoy!
